The Mohatta Palace Museum is entirely dependent on donations from the public, both corporate and individual, for its existence. It has however in the past received support from the Government of Pakistan for specific projects and for conservation of its premises.

The Museum crucially needs your financial support to
sustain itself, conserve and restore its existing premises,
create a permanent collection and build a wing to house
public facilities such as a café, a bookshop and
public space.

Every contribution, regardless of amount, helps us in two
very significant ways: It supports us financially and it is
an expression of your interest in the Museum’s efforts to
serve the wider community. Contributions in cash can be
made in the donation box at the Museum or by a cheque
made out to the Mohatta Palace Museum. All donations to
the Museum, which is a registered charity, are tax exempt.

The Museum is currently seeking donations for the following:

• Contributions towards the Endowment Fund: The
  Endowment Fund has been set up to generate enough
  revenue to meet the ongoing expenses of the Museum
  without using any of the capital. The Fund consists
  entirely of donations by the public.
• Collections Fund: The Museum does not currently have a
  permanent collection and is seeking funds. All objects bought
  through donations will be individually acknowledged.
• Special Projects: There are a number of special projects which could be of interest to the larger doner. These include the repair and restoration of the fountain in the Charbagh (forecourt) of the Museum, naming rights for individual galleries and the construction of a public wing. The Curator will be pleased to discuss these projects by appointment.
• Sponsorship of Exhibitions and Events: We are always seeking support for future exhibitions, lecture events or our educational programme.
• In addition to this, the Museum relies on revenue generated through the use of its premises for events and functions. Please help us by directing potential users our way. By doing so, not only will the function be held in the most attractive location in Karachi but you will also be supporting a cause that is important to this city and this country.
